Success! Tasted the first of my homemade batch of pickles made from the colossal batch of gherkins that Jon’s mom gave to me. The recipe was so simple too!
2 quarts water
1 1/2 cups white vinegar
6 crushed garlic cloves
Bunch of fresh dill
2 heaping tablespoons of salt
Leave sit for at least 48 hours in an airtight container. That’s it. So simple.
I just ate three (testing the merchandise!) and I think/hope they’ll taste even better tomorrow. I think the next batch I make will use more garlic and vinegar-I like my pickles to have a strong taste. Just glad this first attempt went so well!
