Eating meatball subs by the light of a glowing fountain…..ahhhh the romance.
Brighton Fringe is in full swing! Every year I flip through the pamphlet that comes out in February or March and look at all these awesome, interesting and thought-provoking arts events that will be going on all over the city, making elaborate plans to visit tons of stuff throughout May, when the city is overtaken with cool things. And then I make it to maybe….one, or two if I’m lucky. But it’s only mid-May and I can at least check one of the list so I’m just going to give myself a pat on the back right now!
On Friday night the lovely Alice and I made our way to the Spiegel tent set up in Old Steine Gardens. We were hoping to purchase tickets for a cabaret happening over there, but sadly it had sold out. We stuck around anyway and had cocktails and chilled out in the surprisingly warm night air. Eventually Jon came to meet us, and eventually after that, we had to run to catch the late train home. No doubt the worst part of having friends living in Brighton who do all sorts of fun things into the wee hours of the mornings-having to leave before the goin’ gets good. Better for my health and liver though. So it was a fancy tasty meatball sub for the road (toasted with a hand torch, because why not?) and off to the train. A good day, even if we were home earlier than we would have liked…..so grown up. So healthy!
