Harry Potter Studio Tour

I am a complete Harry Potter fan girl, and have been ever since the first book was given to me by my awesome and dearly departed Grandma Weirich when it first came out in the 90s. And I remember reading the books after each of their releases at various points in my life-crying embarrassingly hard after discovering that Snape killed Dumbledore while on a train from the south of Italy back up to Dijon, France, where I was studying abroad; an amazing friend shipping the final book all the way out to the Marshall Islands after its release, just so I could pore through it while escaping from the oppressive heat in our cramped trailer, where all the trainee teachers were sleeping mat to mat on the floor. Now living not just in England, but less than two hours away from where the majority of the movies were filmed, and what has now been turned into a studio tour, is pretty amazing, but it’s taken me literally years to get Jon on board with making a day of it (he is um…not that into Harry Potter). It’s so different to a theme park, as it really is a “making of”, behind the scenes type of experience, and it was the best day ever. EVER.

I looked like this all day. And I won’t bore you with a billion pictures….just a few dozen.

    GIRLLLL

I also have strong memories of book 6 and book 7 coming out while I was traveling a lot in my early 20s. I finished book 7 in a hostel in Amsterdam late at night under the covers and wept quietly in my little bed surrounded by snoring strangers. <3
