It’s gotten a lot chillier here this week. Scarf and gloves weather!
Trains always remind me of my grandma and grandpa. They lived right next to the tracks, and there were many moments spent sitting on their front porch swing, watching the train go by, sitting quietly amidst the din, drinking kool-aid out of a dinosaur print mason jelly jar. It seemed like the trains always sounded their horns at us. When the trains would come through at night they’d be just as loud, and sometimes the noise would wake me up, but usually the rhythmic beat of all that power on the steel just lulled me back to sleep. I miss those days. I miss my grandparents.
What a sweet post! When Cath and I were in undergrad we lived about 100 yards from the tracks, and I still live pretty close to the same rail line. I would totally miss the sounds too if I moved away.
Definitely. I can’t watch a train go by without thinking of my grandparents!
I love the sound of trains too. In college I lived right by the tracks and I always found the sound soothing.
Love the Halloween pics!
Thanks lady! I do love halloween-even more than trains:)
