Things I’ve been up to lately:
-Buying a new bike from a dude on Craigslist (picking it up tomorrow with my dad-I’m so excited!) It’s a vintage Schwinn from 1978. Beautiful green. Gah. I can’t wait to ride it around and take some pictures! I just need to buy a basket…
-Eating lots of salads. I mean it. So many. Good thing I love vegetables. This has also led to an increas in the amount of hard boiled eggs in my fridge. Oh-so-exciting. This leads into my next thing..
-Signing up for a local CSA! I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, but my erratic time spent in America schedule over the past several years has led me to refrain from signing up. And technically I’ve just signed up for the last of the winter bags from the Greener Grocer, and will do the summer bags when I come back from the UK in August (with Jon in tow!). I’ve already been bookmarking recipes for spring/summer dishes. Yum. Right now, all I want is asparagus. Seasonal livin’ baby!
-My dear mother bought us matching Ohio necklaces. The ones I’ve mentioned on here before. How adorable is that? Then again, this is the woman who bought me the cheesiest-ever “I heart USA” t-shirt the last time I left the country. I think it’s less her wanting to buy me stuff, more her wanting me to not forget that I’m American/Ohioan-like I would forget!
-Watching my little flower garden grow. Having never really planted anything outdoors and then stayed in one place long enough to watch it blossom, it’s amazing watching the little guys grow a little taller and more beautiful every day.
-School. This quarter is going so fast. I can’t believe it’s been 3 weeks already! It seems more stressful than usual, with all sorts of wild characters in various classes that are driving me nuts. The course material is interesting, which is great. The workload is heavy, so I’m busy. My classes are all at night, with nothing starting before 4:30 and most days leave me finishing at 9:30 pm-strange schedule to keep. And after this, I only have one full quarter left (in the fall). If I’m being honest, I have some Senior-itis going on over here. Which is maybe not allowed when you’re only in a year and a half long program anyway.
